A Kingdoms of Amalur Walkthrough for Main Quests, Faction Quests, Side Quests, and Tasks (the last being either continuous, or exceptionally looong side quests that take up most of the game to complete).

Page 1 of 3 - Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - posted in PC Gaming: I just bought kingdoms of Amalur for my pc and it simply was amazing but noticed such a game is not in nexus mods, I personally say this game should be added. If it does, someone should make a mod to increase your level. Sincerely Doomsday. A Kingdoms of Amalur Walkthrough for Main Quests, Faction Quests. Legend of Dead Kel Quests. Side Quests Side Quests. Cursed Kingdom. The Hero and the Maid.

Kingdoms of Amalur is an 'open world' adventure game. This means if the main quests are too tough for you to complete, you can focus on other side quests or faction quests to improve your character before going back to the main story.

Kingdoms of Amalur features an 'Area-Level Cap' for enemies, which will permanently lock the enemies in a certain area according to the player's level when he first enters.

As an example, an Area that has an Area Level Range of 2-12 will:

  • never have enemies lower than Lvl. 2 or higher than Lvl. 12
  • lock at Lvl. 2 if you enter with a character of Lvl. 0-2
  • lock at Lvl. 8 if you enter with a character of Lvl. 8
  • lock at Lvl. 12 if you enter with a character of Lvl. 12+

This level will remain for the rest of the game. Dungeons and 'Dungeon-Cities' (Cities you have to enter via door and loading screen) have their own level range - often with a higher upper range than the surrounding area - so if you enter a general area (like Webwood), you will only level-lock the outside enemies, not the ones in Dungeons. In short, enemies do not scale to your level, they stay at the level you had when you first entered an area.

Both DLCs may be an exception to this, with Dead Kel allegedly featuring dynamic scaling to your character's level, although reports have been contradictory.

Due to the amount of available Side Quests, the high XP rewards (especially when employing Fate-Shift), and the respawning enemies (every 72 hours), this creates the distinct possibilty of quickly 'over-levelling' your character, i.e. reaching an area for the first time with your character at a higher level than the maximum enemy level range. This can lead to increasingly boring encounters, with enemies constantly being 'grey' ( at least 6 levels below the character level).

While there are several quite complicated guides online, detailing when to go where for a constant challenge, you can minimize the risk of over-levelling by following a few simple guidelines: Hero designer crack pipes.

  • If you like to complete all possible side-quests, finish everything in one area, and only then move on to the next;
  • Open World Map areas are seperated by long, narrow pathways, so unless you want to level-lock the next area, stay away from those until you are ready;
  • When you first enter a new map area, take the time to fully explore it - but DO NOT enter any dungeons unless you have a quest asking you to go there;
  • Do not use Fate-Shift unless necessary, and if you do, do not try for the XP bonus during the execution;
  • Faction Quest Dungeons usually have a significantly higher upper level range than the surrounding area, and can, if necessary, be 'saved for later';
  • Do Not Grind

Infinite Backpacks[edit]

Find lllyn Doldran, who you meet in Mel Senshir. He is one of the merchants that sells a backpack. If you have already purchased the backpack, that's not a problem! When you meet lllyn Doldran now, kill him. The guards won't like that, but you can pay a fine to clear your name of the murder. Fast travel to Canneroc and enter your house, Gossame End. Sleep in your bed for four days, then exit the building. Fast travel back to Mel Senshir and find Illyn Doldran again. Yes, he's alive (and he has another backpack for sale). You can repeat the process as often as you like to amass a pile of backpacks that you can use to store your items.

Pet Glitch (The Legend of Dead Kel DLC)[edit]

Start by obtaining three pets. Then talk to Cillian Keen and select the 'I want a trained beast' option. He'll tell you that you need to release one of your pets. Select the 'Raise pets?' option and let him finish talking. Once he does so, you'll see that the 'Release pet' option is gone and the 'I'd like a pet' option has replaced it. Taking advantage of the glitch will allow you to train more than three points at once, up to the total of seven.

Easy Additional EXP[edit]

Make Corgan Hold available for fast traveling. It is in the western edge of Tala-Rane, in the Plains of Erathell. Just inside the door of Corgan Hold is a shrine that gives +20% XP for a limited time. Activate the shrine, head back outside, then fast travel to your next quest or dungeon to earn easy additional XP while the shrine is active.

Turn Stolen Items into Non-Stolen Items[edit]

Take stolen items to a merchant (fence) that buys stolen merchandise. Sell the item and without exiting the Buy/Sell screen go back to Buy. Now scroll down to Sold Items and buy the item back for the same amount you sold it. The Red Hand icon will now be gone.

Easy 'Juggler' Achievement / Trophy[edit]

This requires both a bow (preferably of weaker stats) and a longsword. You must know the move Upheaval for the long sword as well which is one of the first and most useful sword moves in the game. All you do is perform an Upheaval and fire arrows into the now airborne target and you have your Achievement/Trophy.

Cheap Armor and Weapon Repair[edit]

When you need your armor or weapons repaired, don't wast gold paying smiths to do the repairs (they overcharge a lot!). Instead just buy as many Repair Kits that you can find at merchants. Once you're about 10 hours into the game they should be pretty easy to find. Try to hunt down backpacks to have more room to carry them. This will save you a lot of gold, especially once you acquire rarer weapons and armor that is expensive to have repaired at a smith.

Stealth Chest Looting Exploit[edit]

If you are trying to loot a chest while in stealth mode but the percentage of being caught is too high/risky, simply press 'B' to back out of the chest inventory and then press 'A' to loot the chest again. You'll see that the percentage of risk has dropped. You can keep repeating this process until you have zero risk of being caught.

Manipulate Random Loot[edit]

You can manipulate loot in dungeons/houses and possibly other places in Amalur.

When you enter the area all loot is randomly generated in the chests/enemies, so SAVE before entering a house/dungeon.

Kingdom

If you find items that you don't like or don't need, reload the save. But remember ALL LOOT IS RANDOM. Good luck manipulating!

Easy Lockpicking Without Spending Points[edit]

Don't hold 'D' while picking locks, tap it fast to advance and if you see lockpick slightly moving - stop and change lockpick position. Start from left or right and when lockpick is about to brake (it will twitch) stop and try again after you moved him for 1/4 of a scale. Practice several times to master. No need to spend attribute points on lockpicking.

Kingdom Of Amalur Reckoning Pc Mods

When starting the story mode, you are asked would you like to skip the tutorial. Choose 'don't skip' and play the demo all the way to the rock troll and defeat it. By looting the troll, you will receive a ring that you wouldn't get by skipping the tutorial.
